Frequently asked questions

Not sure where we fit in your process? Maybe we already have an answer for you.

  • While some of our clients are in marketing roles, we are trained urban planners, architects and designers who focus on communicating big ideas. If you’re looking for a property branding campaign or other marketing deliverables, we’re most likely not the right team for you.

  • Our work tends to come before a detailed placemaking plan. We set the vision and framework for what placemaking needs to achieve to be sustainable, but steer clear of curating spaces or managing event delivery. There are numerous placemaking agencies who can help you with that level of planning and implementation.

  • We deliver more value the earlier we are involved in a process. However, we can be involved at later stages in a process to refine messaging, challenge and improve a design, and develop a creative strategy.

  • We sure do. We can develop a competition brief, help appoint a jury, manage submissions and oversee jury deliberations for your next design excellence competition. For years, we’ve been involved in developing stronger but fairer design excellence guidelines for the design industry.

  • Public art is one of the many components of a healthy cultural and creative city. We can help define the parameters of a public art strategy. But we leave the curation and artist selection to the range of practices that have great experience in that sphere.

  • We are firm believers in effective engagement, and the community is part of the ongoing discussion and decision-making process about change in cities. However, we are a small team and lack the ‘on the ground’ resources to carry out large community engagement projects. We generally suggest collaborating with specialists in this field.

  • We work nationally and internationally. Our offices are located in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Since we were established in 2014, we’ve travelled widely and come to know many places in Australia and New Zealand. Feel free to contact us for your project.
