Defined by nature, designed for living

Brief

With a long history of involvement in Sydney’s south-west, Lendlease has been integral to shaping and growing the Macarthur region since the 1950s. Fig Tree Hill (formerly known as Gilead) is Lendlease’s newest project in the area, a historically significant farming estate and natural site located along Appin Road that will be transformed into a modern Australian community of around 20,000 resident in 15-20 years. Lendlease were seeking to better articulate and align a diverse project team around the aspirations for the project and to cement these aspirations to inform the long-term delivery of the project.

Approach

Left Bank Co. was engaged to work closely with the Fig Tree Hill project and the team at brand agency Houston to produce a Place Book: a resource and tool to guide the development from start to finish, and that is useable by all team members and consultants. Through in-depth engagement across the Lendlease team and using a wealth of resources and research already produced, we developed a detailed place strategy to inform every aspect of the project including design, community development, sales and marketing.

Impact

The Place Book we have created is a truly integrated multi-disciplinary place-based briefing and measurement tool that keeps the vision front and centre throughout the development process.
