In it to win it: urban regeneration on a grand scale

Brief

White Bay Power Station is an historical icon and prominent landmark on Sydney Harbour. UrbanGrowth NSW (now Infrastructure NSW) put out a call for developer-led tender submissions for approaches and deals revitalise the Power Station as part of the broader plan to renew the entire Bays Precinct which includes the Fish Markets, Glebe Island and the White Bay Power Station site.

Approach

Left Bank Co. were engaged by the new business unit of one of the proponents competing for the development project, facilitating collaborative sessions with several stakeholders, consultants and suppliers to develop the strategy for a competitive and enticing proposal and coordinating the delivery of the bid in collaboration with the proponent’s team. The tasks included workshops, strategic planning, concept development, creative briefing, consultation, copywriting and project management, ensuring a proposal that answered the required deliverables while offering a unique competitive approach.

Impact

While our role was delivery focused, we also offered a voice to guide, challenge and mentor the team to develop the strongest ideas and responses for the submission. The complete submission was of exceptional quality and very competitive but UrbanGrowth discontinued the process and entered into direct negotiations with possible tenants instead.
