Adaptively reusing significant heritage for creativity

Brief

Left Bank Co were approached to investigate the options and opportunities to continue occupying the Flinders Street Administration Building to host creative and cultural events. After the success of the Patricia Piccinini show as part of Rising in 2021 and RONE’s site-specific installation in the spaces, there has been appetite to continue to showcase Melbourne’s creative talent in this wonderful heritage building.

Approach

We assembled a multi-disciplinary team of consultants who could quickly get across the requirements of various occupation scenarios of the space. With this expertise in the room, we can develop quickly work through and select options that have the best balance of desirability, feasibility and viability.
