Museum Staff Engagement Workshops

Client: Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences

Location: Sydney, NSW

Year: 2018

Team building at a time of transformation

Brief

As Sydney’s Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences (MAAS) plans for its new and improved presence on the banks of the Parramatta River, museum leadership wanted to take an opportunity to help various internal teams form a common vision and shared lexicon for the opportunities and approaches that would characterise the new museum and its satellite sites.

Approach

Left Bank Co. was engaged to work with the leaders of various teams within MAAS to workshop ideas, barriers and establish new concepts and definitions. We designed and executed a program of consecutive workshops to take the team on a journey of self-discovery and play a role in achieving an outcome for which they all felt collective ownership.

Impact

These workshops were critical in developing a collaborative and supportive team atmosphere within an environment of uncertainty, preparing the team to embrace and navigate the future changes in unison.
